The Groundzman Process: How We Handle Drainage Work
Two gardens can have the same puddle and need completely different fixes, depending on the soil, the levels, and what’s already underground. Here’s how we work it out.

1. Free site visit and assessment
We come out and look at where the water collects, where it’s coming from, what the soil is like, and what drainage already exists on the property. We’ll also check the levels and see what the water can realistically drain into.

2. Working out the right solution
Sometimes it’s a soakaway, sometimes a French drain, sometimes a channel across the drive, and sometimes a combination. If the fix turns out to be something simple like redirecting a downpipe, we’ll tell you that rather than talking you into a bigger job.

3. Excavation
We dig the trenches, pits, or channel runs to the correct depth and gradient. This is where our groundwork experience earns its keep - getting the falls right at this stage is what makes the system work.

4. Installation
Pipework, membrane, aggregate, crates, or channels all go in and get connected up properly. Everything is laid to the right falls so water keeps moving instead of sitting still in the pipe.
